We are looking for a PR representative to raise the profile of their products and services across print and broadcast to increase awareness, raise profile and help deliver commercial objectives.
This is very much an opportunity for an enthusiastic and creative, self-starter looking for a challenge.Due to the company’s planed expansion, a flexible and adaptable approach is essential. The ideal candidate will be a true team player with a keenness to learn and a can-do attitude.
Key Responsibilities
• Develop and implement a PR strategy for the business and its individual services in line with key sales and marketing priorities.
• Liaise regularly with the manager to evolve key messaging.
• Write press releases, client case studies, articles, news stories, expert comment and blog posts for media distribution and to deadline.
• Encourage journalists to write product reviews – providing training, guidance and assistance where necessary.
• Work closely with customers to utilise their experience to publicise the company’s services through case studies and recomendations
• Analyse wedding and event industry news to identify hot-topics, appropriate response opportunities and trends.
• Form excellent working relationships with journalists and key influencers across a range of media ensuring a good knowledge of relevant future feature and comment opportunities.
• Field and answer press inquiries.
• Work closely and in conjunction with Sales & Marketing
• Evaluate the effectiveness of all PR campaigns, reporting on response and coverage.
• Research relevant industry bodies and Awards, suggesting and managing relevant entry and sponsorship opportunities.
Essential Requirements
• A strong track record in selling in stories to a variety of media.
• Excellent personal and written communication skills - writing for the press, taking a journalistic approach.
• A keen eye for news stories and opportunities.
• Ability to remain highly focused & flexible while working under pressure on several projects.
• Ability to work accurately to deadlines.
• At least a basic understanding of search engine marketing and social media.
• Interested in the industry / well informed.
• Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team.
• Sound Microsoft Office skills: Word, Excel, PowerPoint
Desired Requirements
• Excellent contacts across a range of relevant media – trade press, broad sheets and online.
• An understanding of or direct experience in the media, broadcast or technology.
Wages/Fees: Dependent on experience
